Mia Penn
Meet Mia. Mia is a junior at Breck and a leader of Beyond Breck and Women’s Affinity. Her top restaurants change often, but she will always love her mom’s kitchen. Mia does martial arts, volleyball, and photography in her free time. She dreams of a future where every survivor is equipped with the resources and support that they deserve. Mia’s favorite movie is Good Will Hunting, and her dog’s name is Clifford.
Gus Culligan
Meet Gus, a senior who has a passion for art. Gus enjoys spending time with his friends while listening to music or being outdoors. He particularly loves dining at Billy's Sushi in Minneapolis, where he typically orders uni or anything with salmon. Gus also cares deeply about social issues; he hopes to see a more equitable world in his lifetime, with a smaller wealth disparity in the US.
Mackenzie Abbott
Meet Mackenzie, a junior with a passion for pottery, hockey, and piano. When she's not creating beautiful pieces of art, playing hockey with her team, or practicing her musical skills, you can find her at her favorite restaurant, Le Hot Pot. Mackenzie is a proponent of building better relationships between people. She believes that understanding each other's backgrounds and experiences is the key to creating empathy and having a more positive outlook on life. One fun fact about Mackenzie is that she can juggle!
Sarah Feng
Meet Sarah, a senior with a passion for art, music, and dance. She loves to express herself through painting and sketching, and she also plays the piano. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Sarah is an avid thrifter. She enjoys scouring local thrift stores for unique finds and adding them to her wardrobe. When it comes to food, Sarah has a clear favorite restaurant: MT Noodles. She'll happily eat anything on the menu and considers it her go-to spot for a delicious meal. Sarah is passionate about social justice and believes that safe and affordable housing should be a basic right for everyone. Her favorite movie is Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Samuel Goh
Meet Sam, a junior with a love for classic movies, cooking, photography, and sports. His all-time favorite films are Lawrence of Arabia and Rocky, and he enjoys re-watching them whenever he can. He plays both baseball and football, and his favorite place to eat out is Buffalo Wild Wings, where he orders spicy chicken wings. Sam is an avid photographer who loves to capture the beauty of nature through his lens. He's passionate about nature preservation and hopes to make a positive impact on this area in the future.
Amira Sinclair
Meet Amira Sinclair, a senior with a love for literature, food, and the environment. At the moment, her favorite book is Halal If You Hear Me (The BreakBeat Poets Vol. 3). When it comes to food, Amira's go-to spot is Quang's on Nicollet Avenue, where she always has a great meal. She's passionate about climate justice and is committed to creating a more sustainable and healthy future for all. Amira would love to see our community embrace diversity in all facets of our education, not just an assembly presentation or a chapel announcement. Due to many student initiatives, she believes that we have made progress in recent years, and she’s excited to see these changes reflect in our school culture.
Ethan Paster
Meet Ethan, a junior with a diverse range of interests and a passion for spreading positivity in the world. He loves movies, with some of his favorites being Goodfellas, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and La La Land. Ethan enjoys both Italian and Israeli cuisine, and his all-time favorite food is pasta. In his free time, Ethan likes to hang out with friends, see movies, play baseball, and take photos. He believes that we can all make a difference in the world, and he wants to see a future where more people spread peace and love.
Ellery Liddicoat
Meet Ellery. This is Ellery’s senior year at Breck. She likes to take photos, play soccer, and hang out with family and friends in her free time. Her favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities is World Street Kitchen, where her go-to order is their squash and mushroom tacos. In the future, Ellery wants to make special education more accessible to low-income households.
